The Arizona Coyotes have placed defenseman Adam Clendening on waivers. The 25-year-old signed a one-year, $650,000 contract with the team on July 1st, but has managed to work his way into the lineup in just five games for the Coyotes this season.

The veteran of 86 NHL games was drafted in the 2nd round (36th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks, but has also seen time with the Vancouver Canucks, Pittsburgh Penguins, Edmonton Oilers and New York Rangers.

His best season to date was last year with the Rangers, where he managed two goals and 11 points in 31 games. Should the right-shooting blue liner clear waivers, it’s expected that he’ll suit up with the Coyotes’ AHL affiliate the Tucson Roadrunners.
