BREAKING: Forward Mysteriously Injured
Keystone Press

After an impressive rookie season, Dylan Larkin of the Detroit Red Wings has had his fair share of struggles during his sophomore year. Last season, the 20-year-old impressed everyone with 23 goals and 45 points in 80 games played. This time around, he has had issues with consistency, though he should be headed towards a 20-25 goal season once again as he boasts 12 tallies and 18 points thus far.

His 13th of the season will have to wait, however, as Larkin is slated to miss the following two games due to a mysterious upper-body injury suffered late in yesterday's game, according to head coach Jeff Blashill:

While it remains unclear what the precise nature of Larkin's injury is, the Red Wings will hope that he won't be sidelined any further after taking some time off to rehabilitate his ailment.

In the meantime, with Steve Ott nursing a shoulder injury on the injured reserve, the organization will wait to see if Drew Miller clears waivers before deciding upon which forward will replace Larkin in the lineup.

More to come.
