Two National Hockey League teams have come together to make a relatively minor four-player deal.

Dallas Stars general manager Jim Nill has officially announced that his organization has acquired both goaltender Justin Peters as well as defenseman Justin Hache from the Arizona Coyotes in exchnage for forward Brendan Ranford and forward Branden Troock.

It's a relatively minor deal with all four players spending all or most of their time during the 2016-2017 campaign in the minors,. Only goaltender Justin Peters has seen NHL minutes this season after appearing in three games for the Coyotes.

Peters put up a 3.16 goals against average and a .900 save percentage during those three games and his numbers in the minors have been even worse, so it seems safe to say the Stars do not view him as a potential answer to their goaltending problems.

All three skaters in the deal are under the age of 25, so perhaps these teams feel that with a little seasoning they could serve as valuable assets when it comes to team depth.
