A huge announcement has been made.

The Ottawa Senators have reportedly ruled out veteran forward Clarke MacArthur for at the very least the remainder of the season, but many are already openly asking if MacArthur should not be strongly encouraged to retire.

MacArthur has had a nasty history with head injuries and he suffered his most recent setback when he took a big hit during training camp, and while it initially seemed like he would be back, now months later it's clear that his ongoing problems are very serious.

General manager Pierre Dorion confirmed the news to Senators insider Bruce Garrioch on Friday, and now we have to wonder if we may have already seen the last of Clarke MacArthur, or if we should have?
