BREAKING: Goaltender Gets The Nod

The Detroit Red Wings (6-2-0) play hosts to their Atlantic Division rivals Boston Bruins (3-4-0) tonight at the Joe Louis Arena and are looking to take advantage of a struggling Bruins team by winning their seventh consecutive game.

 

Through eight games, head coach Jeff Blashill’s troops can pride themselves on strong overall performances throughout the lineup, yet goaltending has been one of the key components that explains the Red Wings’ success.

 

Both Jimmy Howard and Petr Mrazek’s goals against averages are above .925, which is exceptional although potentially difficult to maintain for extended periods of time.

 

In perhaps a surprising move by Blashill, Jimmy Howard will get the nod tonight against the Bruins.
