We have a trade to announce.

All in all this a relatively minor deal, but according to an official announcement from the Chicago Blackhawks organization, the team has acquired forward Brandon Pirri from the Las Vegas Golden Knights in exchange for forward Dylan Sikura.

As I stated this is a pretty small deal in the grand scheme of things, with both men largely serving as roleplayers and depth additions to their respective rosters at this stage of their respective careers. There's not a great deal to discuss in terms of the financials of this deal either, both men have just a single year left on their current NHL contracts and there's a difference of only $25,000 between the two deals with Pirri making slightly less than Sikura.

Last season Brandon Pirri, 29, made just 16 appearances for the Golden Knights and in those appearances he had no goals and 2 assists for a combined total of 2 points and he finished his NHL season with 8 penalty minutes and a plus minus rating of -4. The majority of his season was spent in the American Hockey League as a member of the Chicago Wolves where he played in 38 games, recording 15 goals and 20 assists for a combined total of 35 points.

As for Sikura, the 25 year old winger also spent the majority of his season in the AHL. In his case he had 45 appearances for the Rockford IceHogs and that saw him put up 14 goals and 19 assists for a combined 33 points, while at the NHL level he made 9 appearances for the Blackhawks recording 1 goal and 2 assists for a total of 3 points, finishing the season with no penalty minutes and a plus minus rating of +1

This trade is very unlikely to prove to be a significant difference maker for either organization, especially when you consider that it seems likely that both men will once again spend the majority of the season in the American Hockey League. In fact with the uncertainty surrounding next season for both the NHL and the AHL I wouldn't be shocked if one or more of these players ended up playing in Europe at some point.
