Keystone Press

The Vegas Golden Knights might be without forward Cody Eakin for their upcoming four games road trip, the team announced earlier today. The 26-year old forward is considered day-to-day with an undisclosed injury. He will travel with the team to Nashville, as the Golden Knights begin a road trip with a matchup against the Predators tomorrow. They will also play in Florida, against the Lightning Thursday and against the Panthers on Friday. They will conclude their road trip on January 21st against the Carolina Hurricanes. Eakin status will be evaluated on a daily basis.

Drafted 85th overall by the Washington Capitals in 2009, Eakin played 421 games in the NHL so far with the Capitals, the Dallas Stars and the Golden Knights, scoring 71 goals and 101 assists for a total of 172 points. He added 13 points in 19 playoff games. The Winnipeg, Manitoba native was claimed in the expansion draft by the Golden Knights from the Dallas Stars last summer. This season, he has six goals and 12 assists for a total of 18 points in 42 games played.

The Golden Knights are currently first in the Pacific division with a record of 29-10-3. They are also dealing with injuries to defensemen Luca Sbisa (left hand) and Jon Merrill (undisclosed).
