The Vegas Golden Knights have officially announced that they’ve officially entered into an agreement with the AHL’s Chicago Wolves to serve as their minor league affiliate.

The partnership had been speculated for months, but today’s announcement finally cements the speculation and gives the Golden Knights a development platform for their young players … of which they have none, just yet. Once the offseason begins in earnest and Knights general manager George McPhee begins to acquire players either by trade, free agency, draft or expansion, the agreement with the Wolves will be prove to be invaluable.

"American Hockey League affiliates play a significant role in the success of all NHL clubs and are we are proud to have the Chicago Wolves as our first in team history," said McPhee at the time of the announcement. The agreement gives the McPhee and the Knights the ability to move players back forth between the AHL and the NHL depending on team need and player development decisions.
