Breaking: Golden Knights sign player to 10 million dollar deal.
Keystone Press

The Las Vegas Golden Knights have just announced one of the biggest contract signings in the franchises' short history.

On Tuesday evening the Golden Knights revealed that they had signed veteran defenseman Brayden McNabb to a four year deal worth a total of 10 million dollars. That's an average annual value and cap hit of $2.5 million per season for the Golden Knights.

McNabb, a 26-year-old player originally drafted by the Buffalo Sabres, was set to be an unrestricted free agent at the end of this NHL season, but it's not clear the Golden Knights wanted to avoid losing him for nothing.

McNabb has appeared in 20 games this season for the Golden Knights, and although he has just two assists in those games he does have a respectable plus minus rating of +10 on the season.

The veteran defenseman's name has come up in trade rumors at times this season, so not only do the Golden Knights securing him for four more years today, but they are also potentially increasing his trade value down the road.
