Breaking: Habs appear to be done with Davidson
KeyStone Press

The Montreal Canadiens went into the season with an excessive amount of defensemen, but due to injuries and unexpectedly poor performances, there was no need to trade anyone, rather, AHL demotions and healthy scratches sufficed.

With players returning to health, and players such as Jakub Jerabek making names for themselves, the team is carrying too many NHL-calibre defensemen and will now have to try and trade one of them.

According to Sportsnet's Eric Engels, general manager Marc Bergevin informed all NHL teams that Brandon Davidson is available for trade.

With David Schlemko back, Jerabek and Joe Morrow playing solid hockey, Davidson has found himself a healthy scratch as of late and it's unlikely he draws back into the lineup, barring a string of injuries to his teammates.

Since being acquired by the Canadiens, Davidson has amassed only 3 assists in 23 games.
