Breaking: Habs call back Schlemko

The Montreal Canadiens have recale defenseman David Schlemko from the AHL's Laval Rocket on Saturday.

The defenseman, who has yet to make his season debut, had be assigned to the farm club on Friday on conditioning purposes. 

After placing Mark Streit on waivers earlier this week, the Habs got the necessary spacde to activate Schlemko.

Victor Mete did more in that role than anyone expected next to Shea Weber, and could stay on the top pairing even with all healthy defenders available.

However, Schlemko is not expected to be in the Habs' lineup tonight against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
