Breaking: Hall-of-Fame coach has passed away at 73.

Some sad news to report on Thursday as one of the most well-respected names in college hockey and USA Hockey Hall-of-Fame member Jeff Sauer has passed away at the age of 73.

While the news doesn't come as a shock due to the fact that it was known Sauer had been battling with pancreatic cancer as of late, it's a sad day for the Wisconsin Men's Hockey program as well as the United States sled hockey team, two programs he had a tremendous influence on.

Sauer made his name winning two National Championships with Wisconsin and led the U.S. sled hockey team to a Paralympic title in 2014, but it was his personality off the ice that truly endeared him to those around him, and that can be seen today with the sheer amount of support pouring out from social media.

Our thoughts are with the Sauer family on this most difficult of days.
