After undergoing an appendectomy in early December and being slated to miss anywhere between two to three weeks, Stanley Cup-winning goaltender Corey Crawford of the Chicago Blackhawks has officially been activated from the injured reserve minutes ago.

This signifies that goaltender Lars Johansson has been reassigned to the Blackhawks' American Hockey Affiliate the Rockford IceHogs. The 29-year-old did not feature in any NHL games during Crawford's absence.

Scott Darling, on the other hand, played admirably in the 15 games he started, going 10-3-2 while posting a 2.35 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage. He will evidently play backup to Crawford  moving forward.

Hossa Injured

Meanwhile, the 'Hawks will have to be without the services of Marian Hossa for an undetermined amount of time. He left Tuesday night's game versus the Ottawa Senators and did not return, although he strangely did not seem to have hurt himself on any sort of accidental plays.

He is currently listed as day-to-day, according to Joel Quenneville, and the head coach could not confirm if Hossa would participate in Friday night's matchup against the Colorado Avalanche.

More updates to follow on Wednesday.
