Breaking: Hawks agree to terms with Franson

The Chicago Blackhawks have announced that they’ve come to terms with veteran defenseman Cody Franson on a one-year contract. The deal is worth a reported $1 million acording to NEWS 1130’s Rick Dhaliwal.

The hulking 6’5”, 235 lb native of Sicamous, BC played 68 games last season with the struggling Buffalo Sabres, putting up three goals and 19 points. He should see an uptick in those numbers with the Hawks this season given the calibre of players he’ll be lining up with, especially on the power play.
