Good news for the Edmonton Oilers heading into Game 7: Big, booming defenseman Oscar Klefbom is skating and expected to be in the lineup on Wednesday in Anaheim.

The 6’3, 215 lbs 23-year-old blueliner didn’t make the lineup for Game 6 due to an undisclosed injury. Fortunately, his presence wasn’t required in the 7-1 route of the Ducks in Edmonton.

Klefbom should be expected to take his usual heavy-load of minutes against a desperate Ducks team looking to advance to the Conference Finals at home.

He’s been a force to be reckoned with in the Playoffs so far. Defensively, Klefbom is logging more than 20 minutes a game against the opponents’ top lines, and he’s still managed to put up 2 goals and 5 points across 11 games. In his fourth season in the NHL with the Oilers, Klefbom registered career highs in goals (12), assists (26) and points (38) in his first full 82-game campaign.

It’s all or nothing Wednesday May 10th, as the Edmonton Oilers and Anaheim Ducks battle to decide who will advance in Game 7 of their second-round Stanley Cup Playoffs series.
