Breaking: Horrible news for the Oilers courtesy of the NHL.

The National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety has just confirmed the worst for the Edmonton Oilers.

In an official announcement via their social media, NHL Player Safety has announced that Edmonton Oilers star forward Leon Draisaitl will have a hearing for the nasty spear he delivered to San Jose Sharks forward Chris Tierney.

Unfortunately for Draisaitl, it now seems like an extremely poor decision on his part, as not only did it come during a blowout on Tuesday night, but it now appears that it could severely impact his team in the playoffs.

No word yet on how long the NHL is contemplating giving him.
