Breaking: Horvat contract details leaked!

We’re nearly one week into September, before you know it NHL training camps will be opening and teams will be taking to the ice for preseason games. Of course, there’s still the matter of some fairly significant unsigned RFAs who must be inked to new deals before becoming eligible to play. At that top of that list? Vancouver Canucks forward Bo Horvat.

The 22-year-old Horvat is is coming off a career year in which he tallied 20 goals and 52 points in 81 games to lead the team in scoring. It was the first time in over a decade where the Canucks’ leader wasn’t named “Sedin”. He’s clearly the team’s best young player and expects to be paid as such. So, how much exactly is that? So much for that rumored “bridge deal” from the weekend. A six or seven year deal is a big commitment from the team, but Horvat looks to have untapped potential, so why not try to capitalize on it at a good price for as long as possible? What do you think Canucks fans, good deal?
