The Edmonton Oilers placed forward Leon Draisaitl on injured reserve with concussion/eye issues. He was injured in a game against the Winnipeg Jets last week. At first, his injury was not related to concussion, but he started to battle with concussion symptoms a couple of days after, head coach Todd McLellan told reporters last week.

In three games this season, the German forward registered one goal and two assists. Drafted third overall in 2014, Draisaitl played 194 games with the Oilers, registering 140 points. He had a breakout season last year, when he scored 29 goals and added 48 assists for a total of 77 points. In 13 playoff games last year, he registered 16 points.
