Breaking: NHL insider reports Jordan Eberle has been traded
Keystone Press

The rumors have persisted for weeks. Ever since Edmonton Oilers forward Jordan Eberle’s name had surfaced as a possible trade asset for his team, fans and analysts have connected the dots between the Oilers and the New York Islanders. Well, now it appears the rumors are about to come true. TSN reporter and NHL insider Darren Dreger is reporting that the Islanders have indeed acquired Eberle via trade this morning.

While we don’t yet know all the parts of the deal, we do know that Jordan Eberle is going to look pretty good skating alongside Isles captain John Tavares in Brooklyn next season. Early reports indicate that Ryan Strome will be headed back to Edmonton, but no word on whether or not the Oilers have received additional assets, as well.

In 82 games with the Oilers last season, the 27 year-old Eberle put up 20 goals and 51 points. Expect an increase in that production as he moves to the East Coast.
