Breaking: Huge update on Carey Price's future in Montreal.

Any doubts about Carey Price's future as a Montreal Canadien may be about to evaporate. 

TSN hockey insider Pierre Lebrun is now reporting that Price is set to meet with Habs general manager Marc Bergevin at some point next week, and that conversation will presumably center around a new contract for Price. 

According to LeBrun the two men had a chance to speak in Paris, presumably during the 2017 IIHF World Championship, although no formal negotiations had taken place at that time. LeBrun also adds that it is his belief both men are hoping to secure a deal by July 1st if possible. 

That would be tremendous news for the Canadiens organization as it's been no secret that many pundits have speculated about Price's desire to remain in Montreal should the team struggle to make a deep run in the playoffs.

A contract on July 1st would certainly put all that speculation to rest.
