The Carolina Hurricanes are trying to shake things up for tonight’s pivotal Game 3 against the Boston Bruins in the Eastern Conference finals and are hoping the solution comes from Charlotte.

The Hurricanes have just announced that the team has recalled forward Patrick Brown from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL) on an emergency basis.

The 26-year-old forward has taken part in eight playoffs contests this spring and while he’s yet to find the back of the net, he could bring the needed boost up front as the Canes are looking for a way t o beat Boston’s Tuukka Rask.

Brown  served as Charlotte's captain this season and posted 35 points (19g, 16a) in 70 regular-season games with the Checkers, so his leadership will be welcomed in the Canes’ dressing room.

He has registered 125 points (53g, 72a) in 334 career AHL games with Charlotte and two points (1g, 1a) in 28 career NHL games with Carolina. He was signed by the Hurricanes as an undrafted free agent on April 12, 2014.
