When we originally reported on this story we believed we would never know the names of the players linked to this scandal, and while we still may never get those names, now there may be a chance we do.

According to a report from Russian news agency TASS the International Ice Hockey Federation intends to demand the names of the 14 Russian players who were found to have tested positive. When asked if he intended to get the names of the players involved IIHF president Rene Fasel simply stated "this is for sure."

We still have no idea who the players were, but of the players on the Russian men's team only 5 were players not currently developing in the National Hockey League, and there is a strong belief that this would indicate evidence that NHL players were among the positive tests.

Fasel also stated his motivation to get the names was to suspend the players involved, which would likely mean those names becoming public.

"We will do it…, at least if we find out they tested positive we will of course suspend them," Fasel said in an interview with TASS.

There are some huge names associated with those Russian national teams, this scandal for the Russian Hockey Federation could be about to get much uglier.
