Breaking: Ilya Kovalchuk's agent responds to today's stunning rumors.

Earlier today we reported on rumors from several sources that indicated Kontinental Hockey League superstar Ilya Kovalchuk could be returning to the KHL despite an effort to make a National Hockey League comeback, and now we have the official word from his agent. 

NHL.com's Mike Morreale has had the opportunity to communicate with Jay Grossman, the agent for Ilya Kovalchuk, and Grossman has informed him that Kovalchuk will in fact be returning to the KHL. 

Rumor has it that the New Jersey Devils were asking too high a price for rival NHL teams to seriously consider trading for Kovalchuk, and now it seems the Devils will get nothing as a result when Kovalchuk returns next year as a free agent.
