Breaking: Imminent trade between the Canucks and Avalanche!?

Colorado Avalanche general manager Joe Sakic placed defenseman Tyson Barrie on the trade market and it did not take long to get some calls about acquiring his services. 

Last night, it was reported that both the Vancouver Canucks and Montreal Canadiens were heavily pursuing the blue liner, but it seems like one of them has come out on top. 

According to Avalanche insider Adrian Dater, the Canucks could be sending their 2020 first rounder and Jake Virtanen in return for Barrie. It also feels like the deal could take place shortly, prior to the NHL Entry Draft tonight in Vancouver. 

No matter what shakes down tonight and Saturday at the draft, don’t be surprised if Barrie is on the move.
