Breaking: Informations leaked in Dougie Hamilton's case.

"The whole thing started when this idiot GM made a phone call to our GM and he said; would you move Dougie Hamilton for... whatever, a dozen sticks. [Treliving] said; no and by the way next time you have a really stupid idea like that, save the quarter and don't call."  - Brian Burke.

According to Darren Dreger, this "idiot" could very well be John Chayka from the Arizona Coyotes. Again, according to Dreger, Chayka would have made an offer to the Calgary Flames prior to the 2016 NHL Draft. That offer would have been; Anthony Duclair and a draft pick for Dougie Hamilton.

John Chayka would then have told another GM (Lou Lamoriello) he had discussions with the Flames for Dougie Hamilton. Lamoriello would then have asked Treliving if Hamilton was on the move, to no avail. 

Burke got a phone call from the Toronto GM inquiring about Dougie Hamilton. That's when Burke realized some informations might have leaked in. "Usually it comes from the media, you know a clown [...] but this is one we can point to a team employee and say; that's where it started"
