Injured player expected to be ready to return for the Payoffs

Chicago Blackhawks sniper Artem Anisimov who suffered a lower-body injury two weeks ago against the Montreal Canadiens will likely spend the rest of the regular season on the shelf, but should be ready to return for the opening game of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Anisimov has only recently resumed skating after rehabbing what appeared to be a nasty knee injury. The injury was a result of Habs forward Alexander Radulov falling on Anisimov’s leg.

Animist has been an impressive contributor for the Blackhawks since being acquired by the team in a 2015 offseason trade that saw the team cut bait with Brandon Saad amongst others. Playing mostly alongside elite snipers Patrick Kane and Artemi Panarin, Anisimov has scored 22 goals and 45 points in 64 games this season.

If Anisimov returns in full health for this year’s postseason the Blackhawks will once again have one of the most offensively gifted teams in the NHL and are a surefire Stanley Cup contender.
