Breaking: Injury that landed Okposo in intensive care finally revealed.

As most of our readers will know, there was a very scary incident this season when Buffalo Sabres forward Kyle Okposo landed in the neuro intensive care unit at the Buffalo General Hospital, although at the time we never learned what had happened to him.

Now finally we may have an answer as one of Okposo's teammates has revealed during a French radio broadcast what the problem appears to have been. According to John Vogl of the Buffalo News, Sabres teammate William Carrier told RDS that Okposo was initially admitted to the hospital due to a concussion, something that lines up with the work the neur intensive care unit would do.

Additionally, Kris Baker of Sabres Prospects reported at the time that Okposo was believed to have suffered an adverse reaction to the medication he was given to treat his concussion, once again something that would fit with the rest of the pieces to this puzzle.

All in all Okposo would spend 5 days in hospital but is believed to be well on his way to recovery at this point, and is also expected to be ready to play next season. Needless to say head injuries continue to be a source of great concern in the National Hockey League.
