The National Hockey League had itself a bit of a coaching carousel during the playoffs but it seems that may finally be coming to a close.

According to a report from Vancouver Canucks insider Ben Kuzma of The Province, current Canucks assistant coach Glen Gulutzan is expected to be named as the next head coach of the Calgary Flames.

There was some belief that veteran head coach Randy Carlyle was the number one choice on the Flames list of candidates, and his hiring by rival Western Conference team the Anaheim Ducks likely influenced the timing of this decision from Calgary.

Gulutzan despite not being a household name brings with hi ma wealth of experience, with 14 years under his belt as a minor league player, 8 years as a minor league head coach, and two seasons as head coach of the NHL's Dallas Stars.
