BREAKING: Is His NHL Career Over?

Former first round pick fails to make NHL

Mark McNeill of the Chicago Blackhawks was placed on waivers this Monday, and it was announced that he would be sent to Rockford because 29 NHL teams passed on the opportunity to pick him up.

McNeill was drafted in 2011 as the 18th overall pick but has only hit the ice once with the Blackhawks in his entire career, putting up zero points.

If the 23-year-old was given a shot this season it could have changed everything for him, but as it stands we cannot predict what role he will be playing in the future of the NHL.
