The Columbus Blue Jackets have announced that veteran center Brandon Dubinsky underwent successful wrist surgery yesterday and will need approximately three months to recover.

"Brandon had been experiencing discomfort in his wrist since the season ended and after an examination last week it was determined that surgery was the best course of action at this time," said Blue Jackets general manager Jermo Kekalainen. "We expect that he'll be ready to go when training camp begins in September."

Blue Jackets fans better hope that Dubinsky recovers in full because the 31 year-old is signed through 2020-21 at a cap hit of $5.85 million. In 80 games with the Jackets this past season Dubinsky tallied 12 goals and 41 points. His wrist injury may explain the dip in his production this past year, hopefully he can come back full healed and get back to being a 20+ goal scorer in 2017-18.
