Breaking: Julien makes radical changes to lineup

The Montreal Canadiens are having a nightmare start to the season - after a fairly unconvincing shootout win against the Buffalo Sabres on opening night, they've lost three consecutive games, with only 2 goals in the losses. They are the worst offensive team through the first week of action, the defense is extremely suspect, and Carey Price hasn't been on his game every night.

Needless to say, things aren't going well. Claude Julien wasn't willing to change the lines - believing the execution was the issue, not the chemistry. This was a breath of fresh air for Habs fans, who are so accustomed to the line blender instituted by former head coach Michel Therrien. However, Julien went back on his words and took out the proverbial blender to mix up the lines.

As of this morning, this is what we have. The defense lines are the same.

Pacioretty - Drouin - Lehkonen
Byron - Plekanec - Gallagher
Hudon - Danault - Shaw
Galchenyuk - Mitchell - Hemsky

Mete - Weber
Alzner - Petry
Benn - Davidson

The name that immediately pops out is Alex Galchenyuk. He's right back to where he was by the end of last year's playoff run. He hasn't shown the effort or compete level that his teammates have shown thus far, and has been invisible most nights except for when he makes a glaring mistake. Some believe if you throw him up with Drouin and Pacioretty it'll change things, but he hasn't earned that right - he has to start skating and showing some modicum of effort if he wants to earn back the favour of the coaches.

What do you think of these new lines? And do you think Galchenyuk's days in Montreal are numbered?
