Breaking: Karlsson won't join the Sens

The Ottawa Senators have headed out West, as the faced the Vancouver Canucks last night and will battle against the Calgary Flames and the Edmonton Oilers this week. 

Though fans were hoping captain Erik Karlsson could meet up with his teammates on the trip, it was revealed on Wednesday that the star defenseman will not be able to.

GM Pierre Dorion confirmed to the media that Karlsson will stay in Ottawa for the moment. Karlsson has yet to make his debut because he’s recovering from off-season surgery to repair a tendon in his foot.

Fans are still patiently waiting for their captain's return. 

As for Johnny Oduya, he could make it out West and take part in games this week.
