Breaking: Key Preds forward one step closer from returning to action!

Nashville Predators forward Filip Forsberg took part in his team practice today, and as it was reported on Twitter by many hockey insiders, he was wearing a regular jersey. Forsberg did practice with the Preds before the All-Star break, but he was wearing a non-contact jersey. He skated on a line with Ryan Johansen and Viktor Arvidsson.

There's also a chance that Forsberg could play tomorrow against the Chicago Blackhawks, in his team first game since the All-Star break.

I asked Filip Forsberg if he’s ready to play tomorrow if the decision were solely up to him.

Forsberg: “I’ll ask you. How did I look in practice?”

Me: “I think I saw you score a goal between your legs.”

Forsberg (smiling): “That’s what I do. ... It feels good.”

The 23 year-old forward missed the last ten games with an upper-body injury. Prior to his injury, Forsberg had 15 goals and 19 assists for a total of 34 points in 37 games.

Drafted 11th overall by the Washington Capitals in 2012, Forsberg was acquired by Nashville in a trade that sent Martin Erat to the Capitals.

In 301 games played in the NHL so far, the Swedish forward scored 106 goals and 119 assists for a total of 225 points. He also added 26 points in 42 playoff games.

The Predators are currently second in the Central division with a record of 29-11-7.
