Breaking: KHL team reportedly tried to poach one of the top picks in the NHL draft.

There has reportedly been a major attempt by a Kontinental Hockey League team to poach one of the top five pick's in the National Hockey League draft according to a report from Russian reporter Aivis Kalnins.

Kalnins claims that AkBars Kazan made a move to acquire the rights of Edmonton Oilers forward Jesse Puljujarvi although that attempt fell short due to the fact that AkBars wasn't willing to meet the price for the acquisition.

Nonetheless it's significant to learn of such a high-profile NHL player being targeted by a rival league.
