The Los Angeles Kings announced that the team have placed goaltender Jack Campbell on waivers today. If he is not claimed, he will report to the Ontario Reign of the AHL.

Campbell, 25, was drafted 11th overall by the Dallas Stars in 2010. He was acquired by the Kings for Nick Ebert on draft day last year. He played only two NHL games in five seasons since he turned pro in 2012-2013. He spent time both in the AHL and in the ECHL when he was a part of the Dallas Stars organisation.

Last season, he played 52 games with the Ontario Reign, and registered good numbers. He won 31 games, lost 15, while registering a goals-against-average of 2.52 and a save percentage of .914. The Kings will trust Darcy Kuemper for the backup goalie role behind Jonathan Quick.
