Breaking: Kings sign defenseman to new contract!

It's been announced that Derek Forbort has been signed to a contract extension, believed to be for 2 more years.
The defenseman, selected 15th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in 2010, had a long path to the NHL, only breaking through last season, playing a full 82 games.
Forbort, 6'4", put up 18 points in his rookie campaign. He played 14 games in 2015-16 but spent the majority of the season with the Manchester Monarchs in the AHL.
The newly signed defenseman has 2 assists through 6 games so far.
