Breaking: Kris Russell has reportedly made his choice.

After a long summer of speculation it's believed that Kris Russell has finally agreed to sign on with a new organization.

While it's still not official, Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman has reported that "rumblings" suggestRussell will be signing with the Edmonton Oilers, and it sounds like this one is all but signed.

Friedman has also reported the rumored details of the deal, and while it seems the Oilers have paid a steep price at $3.1 million per season, it's one they can certainly live with as the contract is expected to be a one year deal.

Russell's value has been seriously called into question during this free agency period, and a one year deal will allow him to maximize his next contract should he have a strong performance with Edmonton this season.
