While there was loads of action taking place in the National Hockey League on Tuesday night, two Canadian teams decided to take the opportunity away from the spotlight to make a transaction.

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced on Tuesday evening that the team has acquired forward Morgan Klimchuk from the Calgary Flames in exchange for young defenseman Andrew Nielsen.

Klimchuk has taken part in 16 games with the American Hockey League's Stockton Heat during the 2018-19 season and tallied three goals and five assists. He has appeared in one career NHL game, with Calgary, playing 7:25 in his NHL debut on February 19 against the Boston Bruins.

In 204 career AHL games, all with the Heat franchise, Klimchuk has registered 44 goals and 100 points. He was selected by the Flames in the first round, 28th overall of the 2013 NHL Draft.

As for Nielsen, he was selected in the third round, 65th overall by the Maple Leafs back in the 2015 NHL Entry draft. In eight contests this season with the Maple Leafs' affiliate, the Toronto Marlies, Nielsen has collected three assists and added 12 penalty minutes to his record. He was the recipient of the Calder Cup

Nielsen started playing with the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the Western Hockey League near the end of the 2013–14 WHL season. On November 24, 2015, he was signed to a three-year entry-level contract with the Leafs.

A minor trade of two promising prospects for the team's respective futures.
