Breaking: Leafs make a big move, acquire young forward on waivers.

The Toronto Maple Leafs made a very interesting move on Tuesday.

With a number of quality players being put on waivers this week the Leafs pounced at the opportunity to acquire one of their own, this despite the fact that it now leaves them with too many forwards in their line up.

According to a report from Sportsnet's Chris Johnston the Maple Leafs have acquired now former Boston Bruins' forward Seth Griffith, who despite showing some flashes of brilliance in Boston never quite found the consistency to earn himself a full-time spot at the NHL level. 

Clearly the Leafs feel they can help him reach his ceiling if they made the move to add him to the roster, the question will now be which forwards will get trimmed from Toronto's roster before the start of the regular season.
