Breaking: Leafs make interesting call-up

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced an interesting roster move early Saturday morning.

Eric Fehr was placed on waivers earlier this week so it's to no one's surprise that he is now being assigned to the Toronto Marlies. The addition of Kasperi Kapanen does carry some interest, however, because it creates some intrigue for Saturday night's lineup against the Philadelphia Flyers.

With James van Riemsdyk most likely sitting the game out, Mike Babcock made it seemingly obvious that Josh Leivo would finally get his turn to hit the ice this season. Kapanen's presence is needed as the extra man in case of any injuries prior to puck drop - but it's also possible that Babcock is considering playing him over Leivo.

This will be interesting to see as the Leafs announce their lineups later today.

Kapanen has 3 goals in 6 AHL contests so far this season.
