On November 16th of 2016, the Toronto Maple Leafs said goodbye to one of their fan favorites and well-adored teammates in forward Seth Griffith as he was placed on waivers by general manager Lou Lamoriello after appearing in only three games without registering any points.

Griffith would find a new home with the Florida Panthers though that would be short-lived as two months later, Griffith will be welcomed back with open arms.

Last November, it was clear that his former teammates would miss his excellent shooting and passing abilities.

“He’s always been a good passer,” former Leafs teammate Tyler Bozak told the Toronto Sun. “Obviously everybody knows about his shot and you tend to look past his playmaking ability. But that’s something he’s always had.”

The 24-year-old did not overall impress with only five assists in 24 games played this season, but finding himself a familiar home in Toronto might just be what the doctor ordered.

UPDATE: It appears the Griffith will report directly to the Toronto Marlies
