Breaking: Leafs put 25-year-old defenceman on waivers

The Toronto Maple Leafs have placed 25-year-old defenceman Martin Marincin on waivers. If he clears, he’ll report to the team’s AHL affiliate the Toronto Marlies.
Acquired by the Leafs from the Edmonton Oilers in 2015, Marincin managed to played just 25 games with the Leafs last season, putting up one goal and seven points. He was a healthy scratch for the Leafs’ 7-2 season opening victory over the Winnipeg Jets yesterday and looks to face an uphill battle if he wants to work his way back into the Leafs’ lineup.
Any change he gets claimed? Or will the Leafs stash him with the Marlies until an injury arises?
