The Toronto Maple Leafs are reportedly in on what would be a stunning move.

A recent report from Craig Custance of The Athletic the Maple Leads are reportedly one of the National Hockey League organizations that have expressed interest in veteran center Patrick Marleau.

Marleau, a veteran of nearly 1500 NHL games, has an incredible 1082 career NHL points under his belt, and at the very least the veteran leadership he could bring to the Maple Leafs group of young forwards could be huge.

Marleau is coming off a solid season as well, having recorded 27 goals and 19 assists for 46 points in 82 games, and it's obvious he can still contribute at a high level even at this stage of his career.

That being said, the Maple Leafs will have some competition if they want to get Marleau, Custance is reporting that the Anaheim Ducks, New York Rangers, San Jose Sharks, Carolina Hurricanes, Nashville Predators and Los Angeles Kings are all in the mix.
