The Toronto Maple Leafs made it official on Wednesday and announced the signing of NCAA free agent defenseman Joseph Duszak. According to source, the young blue liner was signed to a two-year future entry-level contract. 


The 21 year old New York native had an impressive 16 goals and 47 points in 37 games with Mercyhurst College of the NCAA’s Atlantic Hockey Association (AHA). 

The 5 foot, 10 inch, 185 pound blue liner is described as a strong skater with excellent passing and playmaking abilities. 

He's a candidate for the Hobey Baker Award, given to the most outstanding NCAA men's hockey player.

The Leafs’ deep young core gets even deeper, which is exciting for Toronto's future.
