Breaking: Lightning shocks everyone and cancels practice for mysterious reason!

The Columbus Blue Jackets rebounded from a dismal start to stun the best team of the league last night in the Tampa Bay Lightning, rallying to beat them 4-3 in Game 1 of the teams’ first-round Eastern Conference playoff series.

That was the first shocking thing the Lightning pulled on their fans in this series despite getting out to a quick 3-0 lead in the first period.  As the players exited the ice after the loss as the Jackets celebrated, the crowd booed them to let them know they need to work harder despite facing the last seed of the Eastern Conference.

They shocked their fans once again on Thursday as the team decided to cancel today’s practice despite last night’s loss.

Pierre LeBrun has reported that the team cancelled today’s practice though some selected players met with media members. They did seem aware that things needed to be changed for Game 2 however, they do not want to change their team’s DNA moving forward.

No one explained why the team has chosen to skip practice. No players were said to be injured after the game.

If there’s one thing that can reassure the Lightning fans is that the team and its players all seemed composed as they met with reporters. LeBrun notes that one loss, albeit in stunning fashion, won’t rattle these guys.

Columbus’ defenseman Seth Jones made it 4-3 from the slot with 5:55 to play as the Blues Jackets erased a 3-0 deficit after the Lightning scored three times in the opening period. Columbus became the 27th NHL team to overcome at least a three-goal deficit to win a playoff game in regulation.

We bet the Lightning will find a way to make sure this does not happen again on Friday night for Game 2. Even if they skipped practice today…
