He's been a reliable defenseman for Edmonton while presenting a few offensive upsides with 3 goals and 2 helpers in 25 games. That's why it's fair to say it's a tough loss for the Oilers. To fulfilled the spot left open by Nurse's injury, Dillon Simpson has been called up straight from the Bakersfield Condors.

According to the Edmonton Oilers, Nurse would have suffered a lower-body injury during their win against the Winnipeg Jets. While there isn't much details about how long Nurse could be out, long-term generally means "more than a month".
