NHL goaltending insider Kevin Woodley reported this morning that former Detroit Red Wings goalie coach Jim Bedard has joined the Dallas Stars organization and will work with the team’s AHL affiliate in Houston, Texas.

Bedard was with the Wings for 19 seasons and won three Stanley Cups with the organization in 1998, 2002 and 2008. After his contract was not renewed after the 2015-16 season, Bedard became the goaltending coach of the Memorial Cup host Windsor Spitfires of the OHL.

With news that the veteran coach is back working in pro hockey once again, social media was quick to congratulate Bedard on his return.
