Breaking: Luongo carried off the ice by trainers after serious looking injury.

Roberto Luongo has been injured and it does not look good.

Things do not look for beloved National Hockey League veteran goaltender Roberto Luongo.

Luongo's Florida Panthers were taking on the New York Islanders on Monday night and after a little over one period of played the score was all tied up at one a piece in a relatively uneventful game up until that point.

However just two and half minutes into the second period disaster struck for the Panthers on a seemingly harmless play. Luongo stretched out his leg to make a routine pad save, and it was immediately evident that he was in severe pain.

The veteran goaltender couldn't even stand with the help of his teammates and trainers, and eventually he had to literally be carried off the ice in his equipment(full credit to those beast trainers).

We have no idea what happened here at this time, but needless to say it looks serious. Given Luongo's inability to put weight on his legs we assume it's a lower-body injury, perhaps even some type of groin issue.
