Should he pull the plug on his career...?

The season started off on the wrong foot for Florida Panthers veteran goalie this past October, and now, fans and the netminder seem to be going through the same thing all over again.

Back on Oct 8th, Luongo was placed on the team's injured reserve and the same thing could happen again after the veteran goalie suffered yet another lower-body injury, this time on Friday night against the Carolina Hurricanes.

In the first period of the matchup, Luongo left the game with what appeared to be a right leg injury. He was clearly in pain after denying Lucas Wallmark with the left pad. Jordan Martinook then grabbed the puck and put in the back of the net as Luongo laid down on the ice in pain. He managed to head to the dressing room with the help of the team's trainer.

Back in October, Luongo was hurt when teammate Frank Vatrano fell on his leg after a collision near the Florida crease. The 39-year-old netminder was helped from the ice back then as well.

While the star goalie avoided knee surgery at the start of the season, there is no telling he can be as lucky again.

At the start of the second period, it was James Reimer in net for the Panthers. Team insider George Richards of The Athletic Miami reminds us that Luongo could have aggravated his groin/hip/core that has been a concern since he had surgery after 2016 playoffs.
