A transport truck carrying 9,000 pounds of empty plastic bottles was fully engulfed in flames Friday morning on westbound QEW near Grimsby, say police.
The good news is that no one on the scene of the incident was injured. However, all lanes bound for Fort Erie between Christie Street and Bartlett Avenue were completely blocked for hours, but some westbound lanes have recently reopened.
The bad news now...
The traffic back-up will have delayed many fans heading to Buffalo for the Canada-U.S. World Juniors hockey game this afternoon at 3 p.m.
Let's hope everyone gets there - but most importantly - gets there SAFELY.
